Of Mice and Men has been banned in many schools. People want this book off reading lists in schools because it uses bad language, racial slurs, and the use of the lords name in vain. People do not want their children or teenagers reading this because they want to protect them from the use of language and racial items.I believe that everyone should be able to read this book if they want to. If they don't want to read the book because of the harsh language and things that go against their religion or something, no one should force them to actually read it. I think that it us ok for me to read this book. I read it before and it was fine. It taught a good lesson.
This book has a very good moral. It teaches the value of friendship. A lot of books have a moral of friendship but this book really got my attention. If you have a friend in trouble you should stick with him/her and be there to help them. In this book when one of the people got in trouble the other was always there taking the blame as well. If everyone read this book and actually thought of this they might treat there friends in a nicer way.

Do parents over protect their children from what they are reading? Is this why many parents have wanted books banned?
